Providing Opportunities For Dogs To Be DogsWe are currently hosting walks through Smithville Park for healthy, vaccinated dogs who can be managed in the presence of other dogs while walking on leash. We gather here and go (weather permitting) Tuesdays at noon and Fridays at 10:45 AM. Please consider taking one of our foster dogs out if you don't bring your own dog along.

*Introducing dogs to new friends can be difficult, whether you're introducing a new house mate or just playmates. Set your dog up to succeed by starting off on neutral territory and keeping the encounter as positive as possible. We suggest taking a long walk with both dogs through scenic Smithville Park before your reserved time and then utilizing our pens to allow the dogs to sniff each other informally before being allowed to meet face to face unrestrained. Also, please keep in mind that you can pass tension down the leash and create tension between the dogs if you're not careful during leashed introductions.
